Overview

Guardian Vault is a privacy-focused iOS app. Your vault files, photos, and notes are encrypted and stored locally on your device. We do not operate cloud servers that store your vault contents.

Data Stored on Your Device

• Encrypted vault files, folders, tags, and metadata
• App preferences and security settings (passcode hash, Face ID preference, auto-lock)
• Optional local analytics counters (e.g., cleanup bytes freed) stored in UserDefaults
• VPN tunnel diagnostic messages stored locally in the app group container when the Privacy Tunnel feature is used

VPN / Privacy Tunnel Feature

Guardian Vault includes an optional Privacy Tunnel that uses Apple's Network Extension framework to display the system VPN indicator.

What the VPN does NOT do:

• It does not route your internet traffic through external servers
• It does not collect, inspect, or transmit your browsing activity
• It does not send user traffic to third parties

What the VPN may store locally:

• Selected server label (cosmetic UI preference only)
• Local tunnel error messages for troubleshooting, stored only in the app group container on your device

No user browsing data, DNS queries, or packet contents are collected or transmitted by this feature.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple provides us with subscription status information required to unlock Pro features.

Third-Party Services

• Apple App Store / StoreKit — subscription billing and entitlement verification
• Have I Been Pwned (optional Breach Monitor feature) — if you enter an email address, that address is sent to the Have I Been Pwned API to check breach status. This is user-initiated only.

Biometric Data

Face ID and Touch ID are handled entirely by iOS. Biometric data never leaves your device and is not accessible to Guardian Vault.

Children's Privacy

Guardian Vault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
